Celebrating Indigenous Sisterhood through Song.
M’Girl Music is an ensemble of Indigenous women from different lands and cultures of Turtle Island who make their home on the lands of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh.
Through a shared history of colonial impacts, their hand drum songs are about the lands, waters and their respective stories of home.
As a collective, they bring their songs from their lands to share the pulse of cultural worldviews and the stories that define their connection to:
Kikāwīnaw Askiy – Mother Earth – Cree/Nêhiyaw
Nimaamaa-aki – Mother Earth – Saulteaux/Anishinaabe
Yethi’Nisténha Ohóntsya – Mother Earth – Mohawk
