Tiare LaPorte is of German, English, Metis and Nakawē ancestry with ties to the Fishing Lake Reserve in Saskatchewan – Treaty 4. Born and raised in Southwestern Saskatchewan she and her sisters had music as a large part of their lives. Tiare began singing with her 4 sisters at the age of 5 at various local arenas and competitive events.

She began her professional carer in her early 20s as a vocalist in a variety of groups and covered a wide range of genres from folk, rock and country music to jazz in her later years. She was a founding member of M’Girl, travelling, performing and recording since 2004. She continues to perform with them today.

She has spent the last 20 years, and continues to do so, in various schools sharing her love of music through singing and drumming with students from kindergarten to grade 12. Through this journey she has created many lasting relationships with children, families and communities which and still appreciates dearly.
