Description
Back in 2005, when we were coming together to produce this CD, we shared our stories as to why these songs represented who we are. And even today, they are still relevant. Sheila Maracle is still teaching, and her song Eyes Wide Open became an anthem for us in claiming space to share our music. Cheryl L’Hirondelle has worked tirelessly to claim space in galleries around the world providing a window into the Cree/Nēhiyaw experience. Tiare Laporte has spent the last 20 years sharing music, as well as song and hand drum protocols, in classrooms, to students of all ages. And Renae Morriseau continues to manage M’Girl’s musical performances.
Special musical guests: Jason Burnstick, Joseph ‘Pepe’ Danza, Antonio Gonzalez, Kat Hendrix, Shirley James, Fraser Lang, George Leach, Murray Porter & Skeena Reece.
